GALESBURG, Illinois - The Prairie Fire volleyball team lost to Lake Forest 3-1 on Saturday afternoon.

The Foresters took the first set 25-16, but Knox came back with a 25-15 victory in set two. Lake Forest responded with a 25-10 win in the third set. 

The fourth set was back and forth most of the way, with Knox taking the largest lead at 17-12. After a timeout by the Foresters, Lake Forest crept back into the match and forced a 19-19 tie. The teams remained tied 22-22, but the Foresters scored three of the last four points to take the set and the match.

Catessa Duran led Knox with 12 kills. Katie Anderson racked up 20 assists, nine digs, and two blocks. Emme Patton added 18 digs and Autumn Schneider tallied three blocks.

"We had a real chance to beat Lake Forest and came up just short," said head coach Pat Barry. "It would have been great to win today, but we will focus on finishing the season strong."

The Prairie Fire returns to action on October 27 as they host Iowa Wesleyan for senior night.
