ROCKFORD, Illinois - The Prairie Fire volleyball team picked up a 3-1 victory over Rockford on Wednesday night.
The Regents won the first set 25-19, but Knox won the last three sets 25-16, 25-21, 25-22. The Prairie Fire trailed 17-14 late in the third set, but they stormed back with an 11-4 run to swing the tide in their favor heading into the fourth set.
Catessa Duran racked up 17 kills to lead Knox. Katie Anderson picked up 47 assists and 10 digs. Emme Patton added 33 digs. Thao Luong and Allie Dockins each contributed nine kills and Autumn Schneider finished with eight kills and a .421 hitting percentage.
"We fell behind early in the first set, but we rebounded well in the second set," said head coach Pat Barry. "The run we went on at the end of the third set was impressive and definitely gave us an edge headed into the fourth set."
The Prairie Fire return to action on September 11 as they travel to Dominican.
