ELSAH, Illinois - The Prairie Fire swimming and diving teams competed in the Panther Invitational at Principia College on Saturday.

Alyssa Stringer finished fifth in the women's 50 free (:27.35) and sixth in the 100 fly (1:08.01).

Kiely Thompson earned a fifth place finish in the women's 200 breast (3:02.11).

Joe Pederson placed fifth in the men's 200 back with a time of 2:23.54.

"We had some good swims, but our endurance isn't quite there yet," said head coach Jonathan Powers. "Some races we finished strong and need the confidence to go out faster.  Other times we just struggled at the end. I am so proud of this team and how it has persevered."

Knox returns to action as they travel to Monmouth on January 29.
