Swimming and Diving Competes at Panther Invite

ELSAH, Illinois - The Prairie Fire swimming and diving teams competed at the Panther Invitational at Principia on Friday and Saturday.

The women's team earned third place out of five teams with a score of 253. The men's team also placed third of five with a score of 193.

The women's 100 medley relay team of Taylor Scamman, Chloe Rodeffer, Rachel Schonfeld, and Kiely Thompson placed first with a time of 57.87.

Scamman won the women's 50 free (26.40). She also placed second in the 50 back (30.03) and third in the 100 back (1:06.54).

Schonfeld placed third in the women's 100 IM with a time of 1:11.88.

Rodeffer picked up a fourth place finish in the women's 100 free (1:10.61).

Thompson earned a fourth place finish in the women's 200 breast with a time of 3:05.47.

Joe Pederson finished second in the men's 50 back (28.62) and the 200 butterfly (2:28.65).

Etienne Thomas took fourth place in the men's 50 back (29.40)

John Peterson placed fourth in the men's 100 free with a time of 1:13.30.

Eita Ueda earned a fourth place finish in the men's 50 free (26.89).

Richie Ogura finished fourth in the men's 50 breast with a time of 35.85.

"We had a lot of good times the last two days," said head coach Kim Schrader. "I'm very proud of the team for the progress we have made this year. We still have two more meets before the MWC Championships."

Knox returns to action on January 28 as they travel to Monmouth.
