The Prairie Fire scored the first six points in the third set to take an early lead, but Grinnell fought back to an 11-11 tie. Knox scored three straight to retake the lead momentarily. The Pioneers used a 5-0 run to take the lead, but the Prairie Fire stormed back to tie the game at 16-16. Grinnell scored nine of the last 10 points in the set to take the match victory.

Katie Anderson led Knox with 20 assists and added 15 digs. Catessa Duran racked up eight kills and Caroline Wolters tallied 16 digs.

"Grinnell is one of the best teams in the conference this year," said head coach Pat Barry. "We are capable of playing with them and did at times, but unfortunately they took advantage of even our smallest mistakes."
