BELOIT, Wisconsin - The Prairie Fire swimming and diving teams competed at Beloit on Saturday in their final tuneup before the Midwest Conference Championships February 18-20.
"Every year that l have coached except when a snowstorm interfered we have finished our dual meet season with Beloit," said head coach Jonathan Powers. "It is a fun, low-key meet and great way to wrap up the season."
Sarah Ruttencutter won the women's 100 free with a time of 1:08.30.
"Sarah swam a smart, well-paced race and dropped over a second," added Powers.
Kiely Thompson got second in the women's 100 breast with a time of 1:25.14.
Joe Pederson got second in the men's 200 free (2:03.81) and 100 back (1:03.77).
"I was pleasantly surprised with the number of season best times we had since we had a challenging week of practice," concluded Powers. "I'm looking forward to seeing what we can do at conference in two weeks."
