WAVERLY, Iowa - The Prairie Fire track and field teams competed at the Wartburg Last Chance Qualifier on Saturday.

Derrick Jackson finished second in the men's 60m with a time of 6.87.

Kendall Ballman placed second in the men's long jump with a leap of 6.85m.

Tyrell Pierce earned his top indoor 400m time (50.24) to place eighth.

Charles Broomfield placed seventh in the men's weight throw (17.02m) and 13th in the shot put (13.85m).

"Today we did not see the improvements we hoped for, but everyone was consistent with performances near the season best," said head coach Evander Wells. "Now we wait for the NCAA announcements tomorrow."
