NEW ORLEANS, Louisiana – All-Region honorees for the 2022 NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field season were announced on Tuesday by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).

Derrick Jackson (60m), Kendall Ballman (long jump), and Charles Broomfield (weight throw) represent the Prairie Fire on the Midwest All-Region Team.

The top-5 individuals in each event from each region earned All-Region distinction, in addition to each member of the region's top-3 relay teams. The regions used for this award – East, Great Lakes, Metro, Mid-Atlantic, Mideast, Midwest, Niagara, North, South, and West – match those used during the cross country season.

Jackson is headed to the 2022 NCAA Men's and Women's Division III Indoor Track and Field Championships in Winston-Salem, North Carolina this weekend in the 60m. Ballman missed out on attending the Championships by just 1cm in the long jump and Broomfield was also fairly close to the mark needed in the weight throw. Jackson set the Midwest Conference Indoor Championships record in the 60m (6.86) en route to the MWC championship. Broomfield placed first in both the weight throw (17.14m) and the shot put (14.40) to earn MWC Field Performer and Ballman placed a close second in the long jump (7.08m) at the MWC Indoor Championships. All three own the Knox record in the event that they were named All-Region.

"I am excited for all three of these young men," said head coach Evander Wells. "They all put in a tremendous amount of work this season and it paid off."
