NAPERVILLE, Illinois - The Prairie Fire volleyball team dropped a 3-1 match at North Central on Saturday afternoon.
Knox won the first set 26-24, but dropped the second set 25-22. The Cardinals then won the final two sets 25-8 and 25-12 to secure the victory.
Maya McEwen led the Prairie Fire with six kills. Peyton Balfour and Abbie Layne added five kills apiece. Balfour also racked up four blocks, while Layne tallied two. Emme Patton notched 12 digs and Chiho Okada tacked on 10 digs.
"We played very well the first two sets," said interim head coach Lisa Olson. "We played about as good as we've played all season for those two sets, but the loss in the second set gave North Central some momentum and they ran with it."
Knox will return to action as they host Cornell on November 3 to finish their season.
