EUREKA, Illinois - The Prairie Fire volleyball team defeated Eureka 3-1 on Tuesday night.

The Red Devils took the first set 25-16.

Knox jumped out to an 11-6 lead early in the second set. Eureka stormed back to take a 21-20 lead. The Prairie Fire scored five of the last seven points to win the second set 25-23.

Eureka took an early 7-3 lead in set three, but Knox scored five straight to take the lead. The set went back-and-forth with the Red Devils taking a 19-14 lead late in the set. The Prairie Fire rallied to win the set 25-23.

The fourth set was hard fought, with both teams exchanging leads once again. Knox took a 21-18 lead late in the set and held on for the victory.

Allie Dockins led the Prairie Fire with 19 kills and 18 assists. Chiho Okada added 26 assists. Abbie Layne tallied five kills and four blocks.

"We never gave up tonight, the women just kept fighting back and fighting back," said interim head coach Lisa Olson. "Allie was great tonight and Chiho was all over the place. Each and every player is getting better every day and it was a great team win."

Knox will return to action on October 4 as they travel to Monmouth to resume conference play.
