Box Score GALESBURG, Illinois - The Prairie Fire women's soccer team dropped a 2-0 game to Lakeland on Monday afternoon. Before the game, the team honored superfan Henry Wooten for Staff Appreciation Day. Henry has worked in the cafeteria at Knox for over 32 years.
The Muskies scored in the 10th minute to take an early lead. The score remained 1-0 at the half.
Lakeland scored again in the 63rd minute to seal the victory.
The Muskies outshot the Prairie Fire 8-4 overall, including a 5-3 advantage in shots on goal.
"It was a great game for us," said head coach Annie Gerdes. "We put a lot of pieces together and left it all out on the field. We've played better with each game and I'm excited to see where we go from here."
Knox returns to action on September 16 as they host Transylvania for FC Galesburg Day.
