GALESBURG, IL - The Prairie Fire volleyball team fell to Lawrence University 3-1 Saturday afternoon.
The Prairie Fire held a 14-13 lead in the first set, but Lawrence quickly reeled in seven straight points to take a 20-14 lead. Lawrence held on to take set one 25-15.
Lawrence took a 19-13 lead in the second set, but the Prairie Fire quickly came back evening the score 20-20. Lawrence pulled ahead taking set two 25-23.
The Prairie Fire led 16-11 in the third set and finished with a 25-19 victory.
Lawrence took a quick 15-5 lead in set four. The Prairie Fire rallied back, but ultimately lost the fourth set 25-20.
Allie Dockins led the Prairie Fire with 13 kills. Abbie Layne racked up five blocks. Emme Patton tallied 24 assists. Sam Black added 19 digs.
"We played well today, and although it wasn't exactly what we wanted I think we had a lot of positives today" said head coach Lisa Olson. "We are getting better each day, and I am looking forward to getting back to work before our next match."
The Prairie Fire will travel to Eurkea College for their next match on October 3rd.
