The Knox College softball program was projected to be ninth in the Midwest Conference preseason poll released on Friday. The Prairie Fire received eight points. Lake Forest was named the conference favorite, earning 62 votes, while Illinois College was second with 58.

Last year, the Prairie Fire went 2-35 overall and 1-15 in league play. 

Knox College opens the season at home, hosting Principia College on Friday, March 6, in a doubleheader beginning at 3 p.m. Coach Casey Hipp '21 begins her second full season as head coach for the Prairie Fire.
