Box Score APPLETON, Wisconsin – The Knox College men's basketball team wrapped up the season on Saturday afternoon, falling to Lawrence, 73-60.
The Prairie Fire ended the season 10-15 overall and 6-10 in the Midwest Conference, good for sixth place.
While the season ended with a defeat, Knox had its best conference finish since tying for fifth in the 2007-08 season. It was also the third time in the last 20 seasons the Prairie Fire had 10 or more wins overall, and the fourth time in the last 20 seasons the program had six or more league victories.
Knox scored the initial points of the game on a Carl Dortch bucket. From there, the Vikings started to roll, going on a 19-1 run before a Denim Tuala-Fata basket made it a 19-5 Lawrence lead at the 11:09 mark of the first half. Lawrence continued to play well, taking a 50-29 lead into halftime.
In the second half, Knox outscored Lawrence 31-23, but it was not enough.
Willie Rogers III led Knox, scoring a team-high 14 points. Josh Stewart added seven points and 10 rebounds while Russell Wright had six points and 14 boards. Ryan Erdos and Carl Dortch each tallied eight for the Prairie Fire.
