Final ResultsBeloit, Wis. – The Prairie Fire added seven top five placements on the second day of the Beloit Relays.
The Knox men's team racked up points in the shot put, discus, and the hammer throw – earning four of the eight placements in the three events.
The Prairie Fire men finished sixth overall out of nine teams with 73 points. The women's squad tallied 15 points and placed seventh in the team standings.
Knox had three top five placements in the men's shot put. Sophomore
Brennan McGlauchlen (Inver Grove Heights, MN, Simley) was second with his throw of 42' 1.5". Senior
Weston Chenoweth (Canton, IL, Canton) placed fourth (40' 0") and senior
Devin Compton (Aurora, IL, West Aurora ) was fifth (39' 5 3/4"). First-year
James Lenihan (Oak Lawn, IL, Oak Lawn) also scored in the shot by placing eighth.
Senior
Tim Worrell (Wataga, IL, ROWVA) led the way with a third place effort in the discus. His throw of 142' 7" ranks fifth on the all-time top 10 individual list and blew away his previous best heave (133' 1"). His throw ranks fifth in the Midwest Conference to date. Compton, Chenoweth, and McGlauchlen placed sixth, seventh, and eighth, respectively, in the discus.
Four Prairie Fire competitors placed in the hammer throw as well. McGlauchlen's throw that traveled 121' 11" was fifth among the competitors. Compton followed in sixth place, Chenoweth in seventh, and senior
Adam Worden (Monee, IL, Crete-Monee) was eighth.
The Prairie Fire men's 4x400 relay team finished fourth with its time of 3:43.02. Running the relay for Knox were sophomore

Josh Tvrdy (Tucson, AZ, Pusch Ridge Christian Academy), junior
Jake Swider-Rogers (Chicago, IL, St. Ignatius), and sophomore
Ezekiel Jere (Tema, Ghana, SOS- Hermann Gmeiner International).
Jere, Tvrdy, and Swider-Rogers also scored in individual events on Saturday. Jere placed sixth in the 400 meters, Tvrdy was eighth in the 800 meters, and Swider-Rogers finished eighth in the 110 meter hurdles.
The men's 4x100 relay team from Knox added a point for the team with an eighth place finish.
Junior
ShirJia Bielefeld (Weston, WI, DC Everest) led the Prairie Fire women's team with a top five placement on Saturday. She cleared 8' 6 3/4" in the pole vault to finish fourth in the event.
First-year
Jessica Fritts (Scottsdale, AZ, Foothills Academy) improved her top performance in the hammer throw that ranks eighth on the all-time top ten individual list. Her throw of 94' 6" topped her previous best by 2 1/2 feet.
Knox competes next in the Fighting Scot Open at Monmouth College next Saturday. It's the last meet before the Midwest Conference Championships on May 9 and 10 at Grinnell College.
DAY ONE RECAPBeloit, Wis. – The Prairie Fire posted four top five finishes during the opening day of the Beloit Relays on Friday.
Knox was led by sophomore
Elizabeth Reyes (Oak Park, IL, Oak Park-River Forest), who placed first in the 10K in 43:06.63. The time ranks sixth on the all-time top 10 individual list for the event. Reyes has won events in back-to-back meets after crossing the finish line first in the 5K race at the University of Dubuque Good Friday Open.
Sophomore
Brian Cole (Warson Woods, MO, Webster Groves) had the highest finish of the day for the Prairie Fire men's team with his fourth place effort in the 10K in 35:01.73. First-year
Hisanori Goto (Saitama-ken, Japan, Waseda University) also scored for Knox by placing eighth overall in the 10K.
Two members of the men's squad scored in the 3000 meter steeplechase. First-year
Josh Tvrdy (Tucson, AZ, Pusch Ridge Christian Academy) finished fifth in a time of 10:41.38, which ranks eighth on the all-time top 10 individual list. First-year
Joseph Gilmore (North Pole, AK, North Pole) added points for the Prairie Fire with his seventh place finish.
Knox also picked up five points in the javelin behind senior
Weston Chenoweth (Canton, IL, Canton) and first-year
James Lenihan (Oak Lawn, IL, Oak Lawn).
Chenoweth finished fifth with a throw of 143' 4" and Lenihan's throw that landed 134' 3" away was eighth among the 20 competitors.
The Knox women's team wrapped up the first day with 10 points and is in fifth place out of the six teams that scored. The Knox men's squad totaled 17 points and is fifth among eight teams with points.
