Track and Fields Competes at Olivet Nazarene

BOURBONNAIS, Illinois - The Prairie Fire track and field teams competed at the Olivet Nazarene Outdoor Invitational on Friday and Saturday.

Tyrell Pierce placed first in the men's 400m (48.89) and second in the men's 200m (21.81).

Derrick Jackson finished in fourth place in the men's 100m with a time of 10.90. Jonathan Bailey placed fifth (11.00).

Lance Miller Yates earned a third place finish in the men's 800m (2:00.18).

Jacob Anderson placed second in the men's 400m hurdles with a time of 1:00.94.

Kendall Ballman earned first place in the men's long jump with a leap of 7.01m.

Ethan Sena placed second in the men's pole vault (3.65m).

Autumn Crow earned a first place finish in the women's 3,000m steeplechase (12:22.58). Saxon Alvarez placed second (13:06.06).

Kayla Beaman finished in sixth place in the women's 100m with a time of 13.35.

Megan Shafar placed second in the women's high jump (1.45m) and fifth place in the women's 100m hurdles (19.61).

Thao Luong earned sixth place in the women's triple jump with a leap of 9.48m.

"We had some great finishes once again and should be in a good position to compete at conference in two weeks," said head coach Evander Wells. "We still have one more meet in the regular season to get ready for conference."

Knox travels to Monmouth on May 6 in their final tuneup for the Midwest Conference Championships on May 12 and 13 at Grinnell.
