The Knox College men's golf team started the spring season strongly, placing seventh at the Alice Lloyd College Spring Invitational over the weekend.
The Prairie Fire, as a team, shot a two-round score of 609, finishing 49 over par; Indiana University East claimed victory with an impressive 562.
Knox opened the tournament on Saturday with a team score of 301, followed by a 308 later that day, showing consistency throughout the opening rounds.
Pranav Nandakumar led the squad, tying for fifth overall by shooting a 69-73–142 for a +2. Close behind, Gabe Newton tied for ninth with a 72-72–144, +4, while Nathaniel Zug delivered another top 25 finish for Knox, tying for 23rd with a 77-76–153, +13.
The next competition for the Prairie Fire is the Illinois Wesleyan Invitational on April 3-4.
