The Prairie Fire lost to St. Norbert College 9-0 last Sunday for the squad's third consecutive defeat after opening the season with a 9-0 victory against the University of Dubuque in Waverly, Iowa.

Knox's match against Monmouth College at home on Tuesday was suspended because of darkness.  The Prairie Fire won four of seven completed matches, two singles and two doubles, but darkness prevented completion of the two other singles matches.

Although the non-conference match against the Fighting Scots was suspended and the overall outcome Molly Stein '11won't count, the individual statistics do.  The highlights included singles wins for junior Rachel Clark (Newton, Iowa) and sophomore Emily Tyl (Downers Grove, Illinois).  Clark defeated Monmouth's Ashley Lawrence 6-2, 6-4 for her second singles victory of the season.  Tyl blanked Jordan Heeb 6-0, 6-0 for her third singles triumph.

Doubles play winners for the Prairie Fire against the Scots were the duos of senior Molly Stein (Elmhurst, Illinois) and junior Jordan Kuban (Greeley, Colorado) along with Tyl and sophomore Aimee Neilan (Lake in the Hills, Illinois).  Stein/Kuban beat Monmouth's Joi Henry and Kristen Huffman 8-2 while Tyl/Neilan shut out Lawrence/Heeb 8-0.
