De Pere, WI – The Prairie Fire began a two-day trip to Wisconsin that includes three matches with a loss to St. Norbert College on Friday, September 7.

The Green Knights (1-1, 0-0 MWC North) defeated Knox 8-1.  Junior Charlotte Garvin (Omaha, NE, Central) accounted for the Fire’s lone victory at #2 singles.  She beat SNC’s Ariel Bloniarz 6-3, 6-1.

Knox (0-2, 0-1 MWC South) takes on two more Midwest Conference North Division opponents on Saturday, September 8. 

The first match is at 9:00 a.m. against Lawrence University (2-2, 0-0 MWC North) in Appleton, Wisconsin.  The Prairie Fire then heads to Waukesha, Wisconsin to play Carroll University (3-0, 1-0 MWC North) at 3:00 p.m.

Knox plays six straight matches to begin the season before finally playing at home. 

The opener at the Merdian Tennis Courts is against Midwest Conference power Grinnell College (1-0, 0-0 MWC South) on September 16 at 9:00 a.m.  That’s the first of two contests the Prairie Fire will play on September 16 with Illinois College (0-0) to follow the Pioneers in another MWC South Division match-up at 12:00 p.m.
