Galesburg, IL – The Prairie Fire lost their final match of the spring season 5-3 to the University of Dubuque on Thursday at Lakeside Tennis Center.

Knox won twice in singles play and claimed one of the three doubles matches against the Spartans (7-8).

Junior Charlotte Garvin (Omaha, NE, Central) defeated her #1 singles opponent 6-1, 6-4 to finish the season with an overall singles record of 11-5. 

Senior Emily Tyl (Downers Grove, IL, Benet Academy) ended her Prairie Fire tennis career with a 6-4, 6-1 victory in #3 singles.

Garvin teamed up with junior Dana Pierce (South Barrington, IL, Barrington) to win their #1 doubles match 8-2.

Knox finished the 2012-13 season with a 6-10 record in dual matches.  The Prairie Fire doubled their win total compared to the 2011-12 season, when they finished 3-8 overall in duals.
