A little more than seven months after
UD downed the Prairie Fire 6-3 in Dubuque during the fall season, Knox turned the tables on the Spartans and won by the same score on Wednesday.
The Prairie Fire (4-10), playing their only home match of the spring, took two of three in doubles play and four of six in the singles competition.
Seniors
Charlotte Garvin (Omaha, NE, Central) and
Dana Pierce (Barrington, IL, Barrington) accounted for all three Knox wins against UD when the teams previously met on September 4. They prevailed again over the Spartans in #1 doubles, 8-3. Garvin also won her #1 singles match 6-3, 6-3 and Pierce came away with a 6-2, 6-3 victory in #2 singles.
First-years
Eden McKissick-Hawley (Prairie Village, KS, Shawnee Mission East) and
Celina Dietzel (Milwaukee, WI, Cudahy) accounted for the two other singles wins by the Prairie Fire. McKissick-Hawley outscored her opponent 6-4, 7-5 in the #3 slot while Dietzel battled her way to a 6-1, 2-6, 10-8 victory in the #6 position.

Maggie St. Clair (Mount Vernon, IA, Mount Vernon), teaming up in a #2 doubles match for the first time, toppled Dubuque's #2 doubles team 8-4.
The Prairie Fire have two more spring matches scheduled. The next one is at Quincy University on April 13 at 11:00 a.m.
