2015 Women's Tennis Spring Break Matches
March 17-20 Kissimmee and Bradenton, FL


MATCH #4 vs. Hope College (3/20/15) ย ย Box Score
The Prairie Fire fell to Hope 9-0 at Oak Street Park, the last match of the spring trip for the women's tennis team.ย  Knox had its most competitive match of the day at #2 doubles with junior Maggie St. Clair (Mount Vernon, IA, Mount Vernon) and sophomore Celina Dietzel (Milwaukee, WI, Cudahy) in that lineup slot. ย The Prairie Fire resume the spring portion of their schedule on April 8 at Monmouth College.


MATCH #3 vs. Bethel University (3/19/15) ย ย Box Score
Bethel defeated the Prairie Fire 9-0 at Oak Street Park in Kissimmee.

The Royals were tough to score on and did not lose a set.ย  Knox took two games at #1 doubles (Taytem Chapman (Lincoln, NE, Lincoln East) &ย Lauren Sparks (Salem, OR, South Salem)ย and #3 doubles (Naja Woods (Minneapolis, MN, Southwest) &ย Molly Loudon (Lincoln, NE, East)ย before Bethel pulled away for 8-2 victories in both matches.

The Prairie Fire are back in action on Friday at Oak Street Park against Hope College at 10:00 am (ET).


MATCH #2 vs. Springfield College (3/18/15)ย ย Box Score
Springfield College downed the Prairie Fire 9-0 at Oak Street Park in Kissimmee.

First-year Taytem Chapman (Lincoln, NE, Lincoln East) and senior Molly Loudon (Lincoln, NE, East) put up a good fight in an 8-3 loss at #1 doubles against Rachel London and Stephanie Foster.ย  Knox fell 8-1 in #2 doubles (Miranda Corbett (Algonquin, IL, Jacobs) and Maggie St. Clair (Mount Vernon, IA, Mount Vernon) and 8-2 in #3 doubles (Celina Dietzel (Milwaukee, WI, Cudahy) and Naja Woods (Minneapolis, MN, Southwest).

St. Clair stayed close in the first set of her #6 singles match against Stephani Post, who prevailed 6-3, 6-1.

The Prairie Fire meet Bethel University in their third match of the spring break trip on Thursday at 11:30 am (ET) on the courts at Oak Street Park.


MATCH #1 vs. Western New England University (3/17/15)ย ย Box Score
The Prairie Fire dropped an 8-1 decision against Western New England in their first spring break match at Oak Street Park in Kissimmee.

First-year Naja Woods (Minneapolis, MN, Southwest) earned a #4 singles win for Knox against Kelly Byrnes in three sets.ย  Woods bounced back from a (0-6) loss in the first set to take the next two 6-2, 1-0 (10-4).

First-years Taytem Chapman (Lincoln, NE, Lincoln East) and Miranda Corbett (Algonquin, IL, Jacobs) contended in their #1 doubles match against Lauren Snell and Joeanna Glantz.ย  The duo from Western New England came away with an 8-5 victory.

Knox resumes play on Wednesday against Springfield College at 11:30 am (ET).
