MONMOUTH, Illinois—The Prairie Fire women's tennis team dominated Monmouth on Wednesday evening.
Knox (4-7, 3-4 MWC) battled in the first two singles slots and the first doubles slot, but otherwise faced little resistance from the Fighting Scots.
Emily Miller (St. Louis, MO, Rosati-Kain) defeated her counterpart from Monmouth 7-5, 4-6, 10-7 to secure an early singles victory.
Maddie Schacht (Champaign, IL, Mahomet-Seymour) came out on top 7-5, 6-2 and teamed up with
Savannah Sailors (Newton, KS, Newton) to earn a win in their doubles match 8-6.
"Our players' growth this season has been gratifying to witness," said head coach Lawrence Eyre. "A year ago we lost to Monmouth 4-5 on our home courts."
The Prairie Fire head to Rock Island this weekend to take on North Central and Augustana.
