GALESBURG, Illinois—The Prairie Fire women's tennis team dropped a close conference match to Illinois College on Tuesday afternoon.
 
Knox (0-9) got a great performance from Bhumika Gupta once again at #1 singles. She defeated her counterpart from the Lady Blue 6-1, 6-1. Jamahra Richardson and Abby Ball each won their singles matches by default and also won their double match by default.

"Bhumika played the best match of her season so far," said head coach Meredith Witherell. "Coach Niko Pavlovic said that her game was a pleasure to watch and that she has vastly improved between her first-year and today. The team played well after everyone having to shift up a slot in the lineup. Himani Patel battled at #2 singles and gave her opponent a fight."
 
Knox will host a doubleheader on September 22 when Dominican and Greenville come to town.
