SPRINGFIELD, Illinois - The Prairie Fire men's golf team competed at the Blueboy Invitational at The Rail Golf Course on Friday and Saturday.

The two Knox teams tied for ninth and eleventh, respectively. The first Knox team tallied 632 strokes over two rounds, while the second team scored a 645.

Patrick Mattar paced the Prairie Fire with a score of 150 (77-73) to finish in the top-20. Jake Schabes also finished in the top-25 with a total of 154 (77-77) strokes.

"We had some strong scores in a talented field," said head coach KC Harding. "I think we could have placed in the top-5 teams with a slightly better performance. That is definitely something we will have to improve on heading into the SLIAC Tournament."

Knox will return to action at the SLIAC Tournament in Louisville, Kentucky on April 25 and 26.
