A senior guard, Marver scored a game-high 22 points in a 74-60 victory at Ripon College on Saturday, January 3.  The win was the first for Knox against the Red Hawks since November of 2007, a span of nine consecutive losses.

Marver is one of the top scorers in the Midwest Conference and a clutch free throw shooter.

She sank 10-of-12 foul shots, canned two 3-point baskets, and grabbed four rebounds against the Red Hawks.  She scored the first five points of a 14-2 run that expanded a slim one point lead by Knox to a 34-21 advantage with about five minutes left in the first half.  Ripon never got closer than eight points the rest of the game.

The second-leading scorer in Knox women’s basketball history with 1,075 points, Marver is a red hot 25-of-27 (.926) from the free throw line over her last four games.  She set a new school record for consecutive made free throws in a game with 14 in a 100-89 win against Illinois College at home on December 9.

Marver is averaging a team-high 15.8 points per game, which ranks fourth in the Midwest Conference.  She needs 210 points over the next 13 regular season games to tie Knox all-time leading scorer Brooke Mc Kinney, who poured in 1,285 points from 1996-99.
